I like my Firefox extensions, but it never occurred to me to install 200 Firefox Extensions At One Time!

WordPress iPHone App
I haven’t really lusted after an iPhone, despite fondling the ones belonging to my sister and niece. I don’t really like telephones in general, and cell phones in specific. I do have a cell phone, but in any gathering, I would wager that my cell phone is the oldest and most battered one there. I started carrying one (that rather resembled a brick) over a decade ago, after I lost the trailer off the hitch of my truck the first time. I still think of the cell phone as an emergency device rather than an accessory.
However, I must say that the WordPress Open Souce iPhone App, which purports to allow you to update your WordPress blog, would tempt me into buying one if I had $400.
Which I don’t.

10 Things You Need to Know About WordPress 2.6
The most annoying thing about new releases of WordPress is tracking down the new features. A release notes page off the download page would be nice, but I had to find 10 Things You Need to Know About WordPress 2.6 instead.
The PressThis bookmarklet is back, with a lot of new functions. All three of our weblogs upgraded without any problems.

Dipity allows you to construct timelines about almost anything. It will also allow you to import images from Flickr, posts from your blog, and items from other online tools so that you can get a “stream” of your online activity. This is a snapshot of mine after I played around with it for a while.
Screwing Up
About a month ago, I moved the external drive I use to back up my machine to Jack’s computer. I was planning on backing up the data on my PC to his PC using an automatic job. Unfortunately, I had not yet gotten around to it when the disk on my PC suffered a catastrophic failure. The good news was that I had another hard-drive suitable for rebuilding the system. The bad news is I lost about a month’s worth of data. None of it was priceless, but I still felt very stupid. The first thing I did when I had a functioning system was order another external USB drive. (Once you have started using these, it is hard to go back to a more cumbersome system.) This drive is now attached to Jack’s PC with a full backup, and my PC is backed up to my external drive.
Have you implemented a backup plan for your PC?
Montage-a-google
Montage-a-google creates an image montage from a google keyword. You can click on the individual images to see the larger image from which it was taken. I found some neat images using the keyword “dragon.”
