We drove Jack’s new PT Cruiser up into the mountains yesterday. There seemed to be a lot of other people with the same idea, enjoying a mild March Sunday drive. There also seemed to be a lot of Colorado State Highway Patrollers on the prowl for speeders as well: I suppose the poor things had slim pickings over the winter.

Jack played golf for the first time this year; I cantered Lily for the first time under saddle since last fall; and I took this photo of crocuses in my trainer’s garden.

At least we have a nice view while waiting for the train to pass. (Photographic note: I had to play with the light levels using Gimp since shooting toward the sun confused the light sensor. The wide-angle look is purely a feature of the topography of that area.) I’ve wanted a good photo of this area for a long time: this is the closest so far to what my eye “sees.”

Yesterday was a nice morning for a walk: not too cold for the Dalmatian Mia, not too hot for the Collie Lody, and not too soggy for my sneaker clad feet. This image is unusual because I can rarely capture Mia and Lody in the same shot.
