One of my most useful stamping tools is this homemade paste book. I made it by removing the front cover from a salvaged binder. This is one of the heavy duty binders which allow the pages to lie flat, but any binder should work. I keep it filled with scrap paper in which I punch holes. I use a Rollataq to apply adhesive, but one could also use a gluestick or paste applied with a credit card. After a sheet of paper gets sticky, I tear it off and throw it in the trash. This way I always have a clean surface and don’t get unwanted paste on items.

Golden Tarot
The Golden Tarot is based on images from Gothic art, by a creator more interested in the use of the Tarot for meditating than devining.
Glynda’s Stamp Art
I found Glynda’s Stamp Art website via the SceneStampers group at Yahoogroups. She has a lot of great scanned rubber stamp art in addition to her scenes.
Artist Trading Cards in Denver
I met several friends at the Core New Art Space for the September Artist Trading Card swap today. The two women who persuaded me to go in May (including the writer of Connections and I met a friend whom I had invited since I thought she would enjoy the experience. She did. After an hour or so of swapping cards, we had lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant. As we ate, we perused each other’s treasures, from this and past swaps.
Inkslingers anniversary party
The first meeting of the stamp club to which I belong was held in August 2000. Each August, instead of our monthly meeting, we get together at a restaurant to celebrate the birthday of the club. Last night, we met at Giuseppe’s Old Depot Restaurant. We draw names and give a gift bag to the name we draw. The gift is supposed to be a handstamped item that is not a card, as well as no more than fifteen dollar worth of items. Each person, after the gift is opened, tries to guess who makes it. I made the Rollabind journal in the photo above. Other items included some framed art, an altered book, and a tic tac toe board.

Reorg
I was in my sewing room yesterday, looking for my old cross stitch supplies, and suddenly realized that the setup, even though it made efficient use of a tiny space, also made me feel mildly claustrophobic. No wonder I haven’t been able to progress on my sewing projects. I took my audiotapes downstairs, and spent over two hours cleaning and rearranging items, while listening to Ngaio Marsh’s “Light Thickens.” I moved two small bookcases that had been against the wall into the closet, and moved the ironing board to the wall. Everything seems much more open now.
Tim Holtz on Distress Inks
Distress Inks from Ranger were designed to be used to create faux affects such as paper aging. Tim Holtz gives directions about some ways to use them. This site also discusses Adirondack pads and other Ranger products.
Stamp Expo in Colorado Springs
In August, Stamp Expo will be having their first rubber stamp convention in Colorado Springs. This seems a little odd, since they are having another one in Ft Collins the following weekend. It has been several years since I went to the Ft Collins convention, so the Stamp Expo should look like a new convention to me.
Rainbow
I saw this rainbow yesterday from a house that sits high above Colorado Springs. The owners of the house generously host the monthly meetings of the Inkslingers, the rubber stamp club to which I belong. The members take turns giving demos and workshops: last night, we worked on fabric stamping a canvas tote.
