I’ve been meaning to take my camera when I walk the dogs in the morning, and finally remembered to grab it on my way out. I was rewarded by seeing this rainbow to the west. I’ve seen many afternoon rainbows in Colorado, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen one in the morning.
Renaissance Festival.
Volunteer holds hawk at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. This hawk could not be rehabilitated and released due to a vision problem which prevents her from hunting.
We got quite a bit of rain overnight which was quite welcome, especially since it didn’t cause major flooding on the burn scars.

Day two of the Black Forest Fire I went to my friend’s to help evacuate chickens and also pick up some hay for her horses we were keeping at our place. This was the view from her back yard. Her place was about a mile due south of the start of the fire, and we were obviously concerned what might happen if the wind shifted to the north.
