I set up the hummingbird feeders on Thursday, and it took approximately 20 minutes for the first hummingbird to visit. However, it wasn’t until yesterday that business was brisk enough that I started seeing tiny aerial dog-fights as one hummingbird would chase away another.
We don’t have hummingbirds here – so I’ll have to get my fix with your photos. I think the hummingbird mating buzzy dance is the most fun. And watching the babies learn to drink from a feeder. Lots of hits and misses unless they have a perch.
I love the hummers, and we have flocks and flocks of them here in Tennessee. Alas, none are in my yard. That may be this summer’s project — wooing the hummers to join me in my back yard!
