I don&#8217;t know. I saw this link at <a href=\"http:\/\/nielsenhayden.com\/makinglight\/archives\/008672.html#008672\">Making Light<\/a>. It sounds fairly disgusting and quite similar to other sentiments coming out of Washington for the past 6-7 years.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nOne of our founding principles is that that Big brother stays out of our affairs except with a warrant. Storing unspecified data for unspecified periods of time is just so wrong, I don&#8217;t know where to begin.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to let your congress critter know that that this is wrong, and point out to them that with all this data being stored, it will be a lot easier to track down a corrupt politician a few years later&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: People appear to have conflated to different ideas into one horrible mess. The bill partially defines ISPs and E-mail Service providers as entities that store content for customers. The only data that is required is the contact information for their customers, not the content that was stored.\u00a0 I still think this is an onerous requirement to make on an ISP, unlimited storage of transient customer&#8217;s details.
