Week 9

Lo, how the mighty have fallen. As I foresaw, My HR and Runs numbers are dropping. I’m not sure why RBI is still at the top but that shouldn’t last much longer. My strikeout count has dropped rapidly as well. At least the average has stopped dropping and has settled down for a while. I need more At-Bats from my hitters.

79.5

Daily notes on your players from rototimes.com: 05.26 Indians manager Eric Wedge indicated that Kevin Millwood could go on the disabled list after suffering a “considerable” groin injury, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Millwood will undergo an MRI exam today.

I was wondering why Millwood left the game last night after only 4 2/3 innnings. He had only given up 1 run. You would think that, by now, baseball would have figured out that the groin is very susceptible to injury and that more effort would be made to avoid these injuries, like stretching and strengthening exercises.

At least the BA went back up to 6 points, with a .286 performance last night.

79.5

The descent continues. Down to 5 points in BA now. I expect Iwill lose first place in HR, Runs, and RBI in the next few days.

Javy Lopez broke his hand. Ken Harvey is out on DL. Gary Sheffield has tendonitis. Derek Jeter has a bruised elbow. The dings of spring are starting to gather.

80

Lohse only gave up two runs in 7 1/3 innings and he gets the loss, since his teammates could only get one run in support. Fah!

Week 7 Numbers

Has we can see from a casual view of the numbers, the POWER has gone south. HR, R, RBIs below par; what was once a commanding lead in these categories has evaporated in a mere week. The batting average for the week is pathetic. SBs are OK.

Pitching-wise, the Wins and Saves and ERA are to be expected, there were 8 starts for the week. The striKeouts are a bit low, and the WHIP is a bit high.

I lost a total of 4.5 points for the week, primarily in the averages.

Week 7

As we see from the Asterisk before Ken Harvey’s name, he went on DL. I have submitted a choice of several players to replace him. We’ll see whom I get.

Seems to be a freefall, but it’s only the hitters batting .213 for the week. We’ll see how things stack up in tomorrow’s recap.
