Latest to Crank

Mr Crank;

I have read the President’s letter to the Prime Minister of Norway and I think it is fair to say that these are the ramblings of a dementia patient. In case you haven’t seen it yet:

Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America.

Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.

I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT

A Crank Response

Mr Crank responded to my post of January 3.

January 9, 2026

Hello Jack,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the United States’ military operations in and around Venezuela. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

As you may know, on January 3rd, 2026, President Trump directed the Department of Justice, with support from the Department of War, to arrest and extradite dictator Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela to the United States. Maduro is being brought to justice to answer for the terrorism and drug crimes he has committed against the United States.

Maduro was the illegitimate ruler of Venezuela whose leadership of the country was not recognized under both Republican and Democratic administrations. According to U.S. law enforcement, Maduro oversaw the Cartel del los Soles drug trafficking operation within the Venezuelan military. This Cartel is responsible for extreme levels of drug trafficking into the United States and supported the U.S. presence of the Tren de Aragua gang. The successful operation to arrest Maduro resulted in no loss of American lives, no loss of American equipment, and continues to fulfill President Trump’s promise to secure our borders and keep our communities safe.

Congress has received classified briefings on Venezuela, which I have attended. Through my role on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, I will continue to perform oversight and monitor the situation.Please know that I will keep your views in mind should any legislation related to this topic come to the House floor for a vote.

Again, thank you for contacting me. If you would like more information, or to request help with a federal agency, please visit my website at crank.house.gov. There you can sign up for my newsletter or keep in touch with me through my social media.

Sincerely,
Jeff Crank Signature.

He just seems to be repeating the Party line without justifying the actions constitutionally.

Withdrawal from the rest of the world

Mr Crank;

I am writing today regarding the recent Executive Order – “Withdrawing the United States from International Organizations, Conventions, and Treaties that Are Contrary to the Interests of the United States”.

It was my understanding that the Congress determines what the “interests of the United States” are, and that the President (Chief Executive) executes on those determinations. It would appear someone is putting the cart before that horse.

Are you supporting the anti-constitutional “unitary executive” approach of the current Republican administration?

I await your response.

Another note to Crank

Mr. Crank,

I am distressed to hear that the United States has invaded a foreign country and has kidnapped its leader and their First Lady. I understand a number of citizens were killed or wounded in this operation. Can you explain to me why you approved this egregious act of war?

If you, and your fellow representatives, did not approve this act of war, then we have a rogue President who is employing the US military to resolve personal grudges and vendettas. This should fall under the umbrella of “high crimes and misdemeanors” and qualify for impeachment.

I hope you will take the lead to begin impeachment proceedings in the House.
