coffee2code.com Plugin: Get Custom Field Values
And Here’s the fix. Looks like I will need to get Elaine to add the plugin to the right directory.
WordPress Support Custom Fields not working
WordPress Support’s Custom Fields not working
Ahh, someone else had the same question as I.
WordPress Wiki – Post Meta
WordPress Wiki – Post Meta I think they are assuming prior knowledge for displaying meta data, which the custom field is…
Custom Fields Redux
Well, I haven’t figured out what these Custom Fields are supposed to do. I thought it would be nice to add a parenthetical comment like what I am listening to as I am typing, or watching, or listening, watching and reading. The WP Wiki doesn’t provide any input on Custom fields.
I need to see about a spell scheker. All the “Dict.” key does is take you to a dictionary.
OK, I’ve added a Custom Field to the Post. Why doens’t it append itself to the post? I didn’t see anything in the options or set up that referred to Custom Fields and having to do anything to get them posted.
How do I display fields in the post? Come back to this later.
Custom Fields
Now I am trying the Custom Fields in Advanced Editing. I wonder what this will look like.
Don’t see anything but i do have a new key in the edit section
Adventures in WordPress
Elaine has given me access to more features, so I have been modifying them to see what happens. There are a lot of options you can set in WordPress. I wonder how long it will take to bring it to a halt?
Noreascon Four
Noreascon 4 was a nice convention. I worked in the Con Suite and I thought it worked very well. Always difficult to provide a hospitality suite for 5000 fans but we managed quite well.
There was a clause in the hotel contract that the hotel (Sheraton) would keep our function rooms, including the Con Suite, stocked with Coke products and the fans really scarfed them up. It was also nice to wander into the movie or anime rooms and grab a drink.
The Concourse in the convention center had a pub, the Mended Drum, that served a good variety of ales, ciders and beers. And the food services folks were providing a Pratchett themed menu. They also hosted the literary Bheers where fans could sit and drink with their favorite authors. (As opposed to the KoffeeKlatches in the Consuite with just Coffee)
What I really liked about the MD was that they telecast the Hugos and Masquerade to the bar so you could sit down and enjoy the show.
Boston was very pleasant that week, Mostly Sunny. I had a chance to pick up a game at Fenway on Wednesday and Boston won. The rest of weekend was a whirlwind of meeting old friends and wondering where the ones you knew were there were.
Unfortunately, American Airlines changed my return flight to 8 AM from 10 AM on Tuesday, forcing me to actually get up and leave the hotel at 6 AM. and it left me with a 4 hour layover in Raleigh Durham. Fortunately, I used the Intenet lounge to recheck my travel plans and found the change.

This is my Experiment with Press It. Elaine somethimes has pictures of me in her blog
Press It
I’m going to delete the PressIt Post since it links to my editing page. And I will try it somewhere else , like dragging it to my bookmark bar and trying to use it when I am at a page I want to comment on.
